Reward Credit Cards

When looking for saving money one area we continue to overlook is "credit cards". Something in our heads associate credit cards with spending and not saving. Majority of us carry a credit card or two and prefer to charge our expenses where ever we can and it is a good substitute to carrying lots of actual money. There are however other benefits that we can get, besides convenience, that most of us overlook. That is the "REWARDS". To make cards attractive to consumer, issuers are offering sort of incentive or give back to the consumer, if they choose to use the credit card. These are freebies and mostly come with no annual fee cards and at no cost to you except in some cases where the rewards are frequent flier miles. These rewards, how insignificant they might look, can add up over time for a substantial savings to you. There are actual cash back cards that over a certain percentage of your charges on the card, others offer incentives in kind and coupons for cash off next purchases. If you are waiting for that last 5000 or 10,000 miles to get to your airline ticket, it might even make sense to get a card that charges an annual fee and offers anywhre from 20-25,000 miles with your first credit card purchase. By the end of year, you can decide if it is worth it for you to carry that card. With extra miles, you will have your ticket for a large sum of savings. Besides looking at obvious, annual fee, interest rate etc. one must consider rewards, the credit cards offer. You will be surprised how quickly your rewards add up . |
