How to deal with Foreclosure / Mortgage default situation By Mel Mino Have you recently received a letter from credit amend companies offering to help you cut through the red tap with the banks and get you out of situation of default and possible foreclosure? If you have, please ignore it. Not ignoring them, might get you involved with lot of shady businesses that are trying to take advantage of home owners already precarious financial situation or very expensive mortgage consultants will take a huge chunk of money from you upfront for the services that you can attempt and be successful in yourself. If you are going to miss a payment or are in financial trouble, call mortgage division of the bank right away and ask them if they would help out. In current economic environment some banks are being proactive and are sending letters to homeowners advising them of the same thing. Believe me that banks will be willing to work with you, as it is not in their interest to foreclose. They want you as continued customer. Good Luck ..!!
